Steph was born and raised on the water in the small coastal town of Benicia in the San Francisco Bay Area . While growing up, her family had weekend spots on Lake Berryessa and later, Clear Lake. Some of Steph’s earliest memories are of her standing on her Father’s lap and driving the boat as early as 2 years old. Steph spent every weekend in and on the water until she went to college in Laie, Hawaii on a full athletic scholarship. After 20 years in the classroom and a Master’s Degree in Education, Steph reconnected with Mother Ocean and went back to school at the College of the Florida Keys and got an Associates in Professional Diving and became a professional instructor: Scuba Steph was born.
After a successful 30 year career as a professional educator and Coach, Steph now combines her two passions: teaching and the underwater world. This means Steph gives every student the very best experience possible. Whether you are excited and can’t wait to get started, or are nervous about breathing underwater, Steph is the right instructor for you. Both emotionally intelligent and compassionate, Steph understands how to help you no mattter where you are with your learning journey. Got kids? GOOD! Steph is excellent and teaching children and those who experience difficulty, so please do not hesitate to reach out.
Steph recolonizes that not everyone has the opportunity to live their dream and she feels grateful for this opportunity! Steph feels blessed that she has been given the opportunity to teach scuba and Captain boats. She hopes to inspire the next generation of little girls to dream big and to choose a career in the Marine Industry.
